The 14th Hussars arrived in South Africa too late for action.

The 14th (King’s) Hussars were sent to reinforce the British force in South Africa during the First Boer War, but arrived after Prime Minister Gladstone had ceded the Transvaal to the Boers and the fighting was over. They remained in South Africa until the end of 1881 when they sailed back to India, to be stationed in Secunderabad.
