WHAT'S ON

Summer Holidays

Opening Monday 27th July – Mounts & Mascots: The Hussars and Their Pets

Our brand new exhibition opening in Summer 2026. Come and explore the histories of the regimental pets in our new ‘Mounts & Mascots’, which focuses on the wide array of animals owned, and cared for by all our antecedent regiments.

From Bahlu the Bear, Ronald the Horse, and Kruger the Baboon, there are many unexpected animal stories to discover this summer.

Entry to the exhibition is included in your ticket price.

Badge Making Workshop – Monday 24th August

Join us for our final Summer Holidays badge making workshop. Learn about how badges were used to raise money and awareness for soldiers across different wars, beginning with the Second Boer War in 1899.

Using what you have learnt, design and make your own fundraising badge to take home!

Adult entry into the Museum is £5, with Children under 16 going free. All workshops are free of charge, although you are welcome to contribute a small donation for material costs if you so choose.

Monday 24th August, 10:30am-12pm
