Print from ‘The Scouts’ by William Barnes Wollen. An evocative scene showing a patrol of the 10th (Prince of Wales’s Own) Regiment of (Light) Dragoons (Hussars) during the Peninsular War.

The original painting is on display at HorsePower: The Museum of the King’s Royal Hussars in Winchester and is one of the highlights of our displays.

William Barnes Wollen (1857 – 1936) was an English painter mostly known for covering military scenes and sporting events. During the Second Anglo-Boer War he was commisioned by The Sphere to be one of their special artists in South Africa.
