The regiment was given the title of 14th/20th King’s Hussars whilst in Lucknow, India.
Following the abdication of King Edward Vlll, King George Vl was proclaimed King Emperor of India in Lucknow on 14th December 1936. Two days later on 16th December, whilst in Lucknow, the 14th/20th Hussars was given the title of 14th/20th King’s Hussars.
