The oil painting ‘The Girls We Left Behind Us’ is by Thomas Jones Barker circa 1866 and depicts the 11th Hussars leaving for India. The painting was acquired for The King’s Royal Hussars Museum in 2001 with assistance from the Victoria and Albert Purchase Grant Fund and it can be seen in the museum.
